The road to Milford Sound

By far my favourite road that I have ever driven is the road to Milford Sound in New Zealand. Through glacial-cut valleys and surrounded by towering mountains, the views are absolutely breathtaking.

Fiordland National park in New Zealand has to be one of the most dramatic and beautiful areas in the world. It is a place where tall mountains, glacial-carved fjords, high rainfall and countless waterfalls come together to create stunning scenery with ever-changing moods. It's the perfect place to reconnect with nature.

Before leaving  New Zealand to live abroad and explore other parts of the world, I was lucky to fit in a bit of travelling around the South Island of New Zealand. I especially love the southwestern part, including Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound and Mount Aspiring National Park. I hope to return one day to explore this region much better. Kaikoura is also a very special place, and it is here that I have witnessed the most impressive sunrises that light up the whole sky.
